Eve Jihan Jeffers-Cooper (born November 10, 1978) is an American hip hop recording artist and actress from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She is also the inaugural winner of the Grammy Award for Best Rap/Sung Collaboration in 2002, for the song “Let Me Blow Ya Mind”, with American singer Gwen Stefani. Eve was number 48 on VH1’s “50 Greatest Women of the Video Era” list.

As an actress, Eve is known for her roles as Terri Jones in the films Barbershop and Barbershop 2: Back in Business, and as Shelley Williams on the UPN television sitcom Eve. She has also achieved success in fashion, with her clothing line, Fetish.

Elle est née le 10 novembre 1978 de Jerry Jeffers, un chimiste, et d’une mère afro-américaine, Julia Wilch-Jeffers. Après avoir fait partie du groupe EDGP (prononcer « Egypt ») avec qui elle commence à chanter, elle est ensuite membre du groupe de DMX, les Ruff Ryders.

Elle fera un bref passage sur le label de Dr Dre “Aftermath Entertainment” pour y revenir en 2004 suite à son départ de chez Ruff Ryders. On l’entendra aussi sur plusieurs morceaux en 2005 sur l’album de Dr Dre “Detox” dont celui avec The Notorious B.I.G. & 2pac “That’s What It is”. Sur la volonté de Dr Dre, elle signe en 2007 sur Geffen Records; label comportant des artistes de renommée comme Snoop Dogg, Mary J Blige ou encore The Game.

En 2003, elle joue dans sa série télévisée “Eve” avec Sean Maguire, Natalie Desselle et Jason Winston George.

Eve est aussi une spécialiste de la mode.

En 2007, elle fait la une des faits divers, pour un accident de voiture avec sa Maserati sur Hollywood Boulevard (le 26 avril 2007). Elle dut porter un bracelet détectant la présence d’alcool dans l’organisme (alcohol-detecting ankle bracelet) pendant 45 jours et suivre un traitement chez les alcooliques anonymes.
