Glitterbox resident Dimitri From Paris and remixing pioneer Tom Moulton present their retouched mixes of Ron Hall & The Muthafunkaz modern day soul classic ‘The Way You Love me’. Initially released in 2006, Marc Evans provides velvet-smooth vocals complimented by background harmonies and timeless disco production. For his iconic T.S.O.P. remix Dimitri From Paris enlisted the help of Salsoul Orchestra founder Vincent Montana, Jr. for fresh strings as well as a new full orchestra arrangement in his version, and here he gives it an update with his previously unreleased ‘Dim’s T.S.O.P. Version – Dimitri from Paris Glitterbox Retouch’. Tom Moulton’s retouched sweet-sounding ‘Philly Re-Grooved Remix’, now available digitally for the very first time, comes laden with guitar riffs, dreamy harps and xylophone for even more instrumental glory. Two disco legends come together under one stunningly soulful Glitterbox release leasing new life into this timeless record.

EYE: “The Secret of Perspective” … Gothic Industrial GraveWave Acid-Rock from Australia… Sort of like an orgy of Tool, The Sisters of Mercy, The Tea Party, The Chemical Brothers, Einsturzende Neubauten, Axl Rose and Gary Numan; all doing it together over a slowly bubbling acid-trip-hop beat … with a message about how the thoughts we (choose to) focus on can shape our lives: “what you get is what you see; what you see is what you get”… All instruments were played live including the tb303 synth-bass; all apart from the MIDI-triggered intro beat… Other key influences include shoegazer grebo bands like Loop and Spacemen 3.

This track was released on several compilation CDs in Europe and Australia.

’The grief can damage your mental health’
The thing that compounds it when somebody takes their life, is
that it brings with it a whole different level of complexity, the emotions you feel, how they can change from day to day, hour to hour, minute to minute.”
“It’s this massive sadness that comes over you and you just can’t get out of that, and you feel like life just isn’t worth living,” she says.
Being widowed at all is highly traumatic, but for Angela Sumata, whose husband Mark
took his own life 13 years ago, her grief was almost impossible to process.
If you don’t receive the help you need to navigate through the issues, then absolutely it can lead to mental health issues.”
“We are providing a one-stop shop website to help signpost the bereaved to support,” she says.
It is especially important for people affected by suicide, says Angela, who is now a campaigner and fronted the BBC documentary Life After Suicide.
You feel these hugely strong emotions and the kids do too,” says Sarah Philips, another member of the group.
It certainly does affect your mental health overall,” he says.
Way: Widowed and Young is a peer support organisation, introducing people in similarly
tragic situations to others who can understand their complex grief.
“These days it feels like people just don’t understand what you’re going through, and society’s not geared up to help.
