Voor de Europese toer van zijn nieuwe project Sweethead maakte de Queens Of The Stone Age-gitarist goed gebruik van zijn connecties. De rockband was de supporting act van Eagles Of Death Metal en Them Crooked Vultures, beiden bands van Van Leeuwen’s QOTSA-collega Josh Homme.
