On Monday, Massachusetts’ top prosecutor said businesses dealing in marijuana may still face prosecution, less than a week after the Trump administration rescinded an Obama-era policy which eased enforcement in states that legalize the drug. Ending seven years in office, Philadelphia’s top prosecutor on Thursday pleaded guilty to a federal bribery charge and resigned his post.
The guilty plea ended a two-week trial. The 50 year old former Philadelphia District Attorney Seth Williams was indicted in March on 23 charges including bribery and fraud.

According to a law enforcement official on Tuesday, the city’s top prosecutor will be charged in a corruption case, after a nearly two year investigation by the FBI and IRS. The investigation involving Philadelphia District Attorney Seth Williams, has centered on $160,000 in gifts that the Democrat failed to report, including a new roof, a $2,700 couch and luxury vacations. Williams, the city’s first black district attorney, announced last month he would not run for a third term this year.
