Accomplished NFL wide receiver Randy Moss wants to come out of retirement and play in the NFL again in 2012, he announced Monday on UStream.

Moss, who holds the record for most touchdowns in a single season (23 with the 2007 New England Patriots), last played in 2010 with the Tennessee Titans. He had a lackluster season, and announced he was retiring last August. But with his proclamation made Monday, his 35th birthday, it seems like Moss has unfinished business on the field.

Cris Carter thinks his old Minnesota Vikings teammate is up for the challenge. According to him, Moss can run a 40-yard dash in 4.3 seconds.

But which team would be willing to put up with Randy’s antics? He has a long rap sheet riddled with fines for bad behavior, like squirting a referee with a water bottle and pretending to moon an opposing team’s fans. He has also been accused of quitting on his teammates, like when he walked off the field with time remaining on the clock in a 2005 loss to the Washington Redskins.

And then there are the legal troubles. In 2002, Moss faced two misdemeanors in Minneapolis after knocking over a traffic cop with his car while in possession of marijuana.

Even so, that hasn’t stopped the sports rumor mills from speculating on possible suitors. According to a report, the Philadelphia Eagles and New York Jets are curious about a future with Moss.

Starbucks has reached agreements with two African-American men whose arrest at a Philadelphia Starbucks sparked protests over racial bias. Starbucks has also pledged to support a $200,000 effort to encourage young entrepreneurs. The details of the financial agreement that Donte Robinson and Rashon Nelson reached this week with Starbucks are confidential. Robinson and Nelson will provide input to former US Attorney Eric Holder, who is working with Starbucks on its diversity efforts.

Philadelphia Police Commissioner Richard Ross apologized Thursday over the controversial April 12 arrests of two black men in a Starbucks. Ross said the department will be releasing a new policy on how to deal with similar situations in the future.

Responding to the outrage and calls for boycott, Starbucks Corps has announced that it will close over 8,000 cafes across US to train its staff in racial tolerance. The move has come after protests which were sparked by the arrest of two African American men from a Philadelphia store of Starbucks when they were just sitting and waiting for a friend. The Starbucks CEO has publicly apologised to the two men. The incident is indicative of the implicit racial bias that exists in the country.

Authorities in the US city of Baltimore say a curfew will stay in place over the weekend as protests continue over the death of Freddie Gray, who died of spinal injuries received in police custody.

Although Thursday was relatively quiet people were still on the streets in some cities including Philadelphia where scuffles broke out with police.

“We have residents and business people who are saying can we take the curfew away?” said Baltimore Police Commissioner Anthony Batts. “Things are settled. Can you kind of retract some of the curfew ordinance? I would say this – although we’ve had two days of peace and quiet we still have a weekend to make it through. I ask for your patience, I ask for your understanding as we move through.”

Baltimore police say nearly a hundred officers have been hurt since riots erupted earlier this week.

A police report on African-American Freddie Gray’s death has been handed over to the city’s chief prosecutor who will decide whether to bring charge
