Wednesday on “The Talk,” Eve discusses getting emotional while being recognized in her hometown of Philadelphia last weekend. “I got honored at an event called, “The Women of Excellence,” by a radio station called WDAS… And my whole family happened to be there… my mother, my brother, my grandfather, aunts, uncles, cousins, everything. And it’s one of those things where I stood up there and I was like, ‘man.’ And I said this in my speech, that when I was going to Martin Luther King High, and barely, I was cutting class to go make a rap songs and smoking too much weed, I never ever thought my city would recognize all the things that I’ve done. It’s one thing to get awards, and I’ve been very blessed in my life, but to be that kid that was kind of like, ‘what is going to happen with her,’ and to be in my city where they showed me so much love, I cried and I cried because I was just so appreciative. Thank you, Philly.”

Shout out to @MeekMill who donated 6,000 backpacks to students in his hometown of #Philly! But, his generosity didn’t end there! #PageSixTV’s got his selfless story!
