The Hamas takeover of Gaza has brought drastic changes, as those loyal to ousted prime minister Ismail Haniya and the Hamas cause are appointed to senior positions in local institutions, public offices and also at the prison. Since British rule, the prison has changed hands a number of times, from Egyptian and Israeli rule, f Palestinian Authority rule to that of Hamas. Recently the Channel 10, Israeli television crew was permitted entry into Gaza to film the situation behind bars, in an area where terrorists are now in power and anyone considered loyal to Fatah is hunted down. 07/04/07
