The Nick Foles era is one step closer to ending in Philadelphia.

After the Eagles notified Foles that they would be picking up the mutual option of his $20 million contract for the 2019 season, sources told ESPN that Foles would be opting out of the deal.

Foles opting out of his $20 million deal leaves the Eagles with two options — letting Foles walk into free agency, or placing the franchise tag on him.

According to Business Insider, “Nick Foles and the Philadelphia Eagles have a mutual $20 million contract option to decide on this offseason, and it makes Foles’ future uncertain.” Especially since he announced on Monday that he wants to lead a team. If he persists with this then that means the Eagle don’t have a choice but to trade him. Sports fans are the edge of their seats waiting to see what happens.
