Authorities in the US city of Baltimore say a curfew will stay in place over the weekend as protests continue over the death of Freddie Gray, who died of spinal injuries received in police custody.

“We have residents and business people who are saying can we take the curfew away?” said Baltimore Police Commissioner Anthony Batts. “Things are settled. I ask for your patience, I ask for your understanding as we move through.”
