A young Philadelphia pizza delivery man just doing his job was shot in the head by plain-clothes police officers late on April 22. He was unarmed and had not broken the law.
Two police officers in the Kingsessing area attached to a gun crime unit responded to shots heard nearby around 10 p.m. Meanwhile, 20-year-old Philippe Holland had just delivered a burger and soft drink, his last delivery run of the night.
The non-uniformed men arrived at 51st St & Willows Ave and saw Holland dressed in a hooded sweatshirt. They say they identified themselves as police.
Police Commissioner Richard Ross says the department suspects Holland probably didn’t believe them and thought he was about to be robbed.
Ross believes this is why Holland made the decision to get into his Ford Taurus.
There are no third-party witnesses, but the officers say Holland reversed then drove toward them at speed. They both opened fire on his car, striking him in the leg, arm and head.
Holland’s car was riddled with 14 bullets. He is now is in hospital in a critical but stable condition. It is uncertain whether he will live.
The police involved have been taken off the street pending an internal investigation.

Media Celebrates Cops Attacked In Philadelphia No-Go-Zone
Militia Commander Chris Dorsey asks the obvious questions regarding the alleged cop shootings in Philadelphia shooting. Videos include Cops spraying fake blood on each other, and a cop using a small child as a shield during the alleged gun battle.
PHILADELPHIA — NFL running back LeSean McCoy has found himself in trouble with the police after a mix-up over a bottle of champagne at a nightclub on Sunday morning.
The incident occurred at Recess Lounge in Philadelphia. Three off-duty cops were at the nightclub and had just ordered four bottles of champagne.
Meanwhile, McCoy was with three of his friends – former San Diego Chargers running back Curtis Brinkley, former University of Pittsburgh player Tamarcus Porter, and Christopher Henderson. At around 2:45 a.m., it’s believed Porter grabbed a bottle from one of the cops.
A heated argument between the two broke out, until things escalated to a shoving match. Before long, the cop was knocked to the ground, and found himself getting stomped on by four football players.
One of the other cops and three bouncers jumped in to break up the fight. The second cop, Officer Roland Butler, suffered a hit to the eye and a possible skull fracture.
The cop from the initial confrontation was Officer Darnell Jessie, who was treated for a broken nose, broken rib, eye laceration and a sprained thumb.
The Buffalo Bills tweeted that the team is aware of the incident involving McCoy, and won’t comment further until more information is known.

A woman has been arrested after police said she and an unidentified accomplice blew up an ATM inside a Philadelphia beer store. While dangerous and destructive, the blast was ultimately unsuccessful, as not a single dollar left the machine, police said. No one was injured as a result of the blast. According to authorities, a man was captured on surveillance camera entering the store with what bomb technicians later identified as an M-1000 explosive.
