Media Celebrates Cops Attacked In Philadelphia No-Go-Zone

Eighteen years after opening its internationally prominent Center for Fetal Diagnosis and Treatment, The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) celebrates 1,000 fetal surgeries – highly complex surgical interventions to repair birth defects in the womb. Approximately 4,000 fetal surgeries have been done worldwide, meaning a quarter of them have been performed at CHOP, the largest number of any hospital in the world.

Pope Francis arrived in Philadelphia Saturday morning–the final stop on his historic, three-city U.S. trip. Crowds gathered at dawn there amid high security as Francis prepared to promote religious freedom in the birthplace of American independence. The city awoke to 8-foot-tall mesh fences, concrete barriers and bike racks lining the streets. Airport-style security — including TSA agents — was installed for the pontiff’s visit. He arrived at the City of Brotherly Love after taking off from from New York’s JFK airport at 9:10 a.m.

There were amazing scenes Thursday as the Eagles victory parade wound through the heart of Philadelphia. An estimated 2 million fans took to the streets to honor their Super Bowl heroes. Security was intense in order to avoid the mayhem that erupted Sunday night after the team won the Vince Lombardi Trophy for the first time. The parade came to an end at the famous steps of the Philadelphia Museum Of Art.
