The 76ers accepted his resignation on Thursday, saying that his ability to run the team had been compromised following a report from The Ringer that Colangelo was connected to multiple anonymous Twitter accounts that criticized current and former 76ers players. The team had hired an independent firm to conduct an investigation into Colangelo and the accounts. Ultimately, they were able to determine that Colangelo’s wife, Barbara Bottini, was responsible for the account.
