Released in 1974 ‘100 South Of Broadway’ by ‘The Philadelphia Society’ was a part of the ‘Philly Sound’ of the time. There is almost no information on this rare track. I have always liked this recording and think it is a fine piece of Philly R&B. While the vinyl image in the video is of Part 2 of the track. The audio is actually Part 1, I decided to photograph the B. Side, Part 2. since the cover is in near mint condition.

PHILADELPHIA, 8-13 JULY 1974

Rare pro-shot video footage filmed at the Tower Theater, Philadelphia, between 8th-13th July 1974 during the Diamond Dogs tour. Originally made in color, at least three RCA video cameras were used during the filming of the show, supervised by cameraman John Dove. At some point later, the video was transferred to monochrome and it is this mono copy from which the snippets here originate. The entire performance was filmed but remains officially unseen and released in full. Another snippet with an on-screen time-code stamp features the song ‘Here Today, Gone Tomorrow’ and is in circulation among a handful of collectors.

The snippets here were sourced and cleaned from original film stock and dubbed with separate audio recorded at Boston Music Hall, 16th July 1974.
