On Tuesday, the Philadelphia Eagles announced they are dropping Chip Kelly. This is a shockingly bad decision, even from the team whose poor decisions have kept it out of championship running for more than 50 years. Kelly was handpicked by owner Jeffrey Lurie when he rebuilt the team three years ago. His record has been an outstanding 26-21. His picked the team up from Andy Reid, after the team had lost 11 of their 12 final games with their previous coach. This means that Kelly’s vision of reworking the Eagles by trading several high-profile players in favor of a long-term plan will never be fully realized. Unfortunately, this makes a weak team like the Eagles seem completely lost in a sea of bad choices.
