The 14-17 Philadelphia 76ers will travel out west to face the LA Lakers in an NBA pro basketball game on Tuesday night. Tip off time from Staples Center in Los Angeles is scheduled for 10:30PM Eastern Time with national television coverage provided by the NBA League Pass channel.
The 76ers and Lakers met on December 16th with the Lakers posting the 111-98 road win against Philadelphia as a -3 point betting favorite. The total landed over 196 ½ points.
The 76ers are 5-10 on the road this season. They are a struggling basketball team right now with two straight losses and losers of eight of their past ten games. They are 1-3 straight up in this current road trip. They have not reached 90 points in their past two games in losses at Golden St and on Saturday in an 89-85 road defeat at Portland. Scoring has been a problem with the 76ers for some time now. The 2012-13 season is no different. The team averages just 93 points a game ranking 26th of the 30 teams in the NBA. Inefficient guards Jason Richardson and Nick Young are hovering around the 40% mark with their shooting percentage. They may have trouble because they lack size and the Lakers Howard and Gasol could find some easy looks around the hole off pick and rolls.
The Lakers are 10-6 on their home court. The team has won six of their past seven games. LA bounces back following an eight point loss at Denver with a 104-87 home win against the Portland Trailblazers on Friday night as a -9 point favorite. The game went under 205 ½ points. In the Lakers past two home games they have held teams under 100 points. LA allows 100 points a game and 44.5% shooting. Kobe Bryant has been very efficient for the Lakers this season with a 30 point per game average and nearly 48% shooting. With Steve Nash back in the lineup the Lakers have gone 3-1 with the only loss coming in a back to back at Denver.
