This week I’m at 12th St Cantina, where I’m having some tasty beef tacos.

Inside the Reading Terminal Market, 12th St Cantina serves tortas, burritos, enchiladas, ensaladas, homemade salsas, fresh tortillas, and a full line of Mexican groceries – no-nonsense Mexican food made well.

I stuck with the basics, steak soft tacos with lettuce, guacamole, sour cream, and pico de gallo (OK, I might have had some hot sauce too).

All told it was awesome – especially since the tacos only cost around $4 each.

Snap Custom Pizza – Mouthwatering Margherita

This week I’m having a mouthwatering Margherita Pizza at Snap Custom Pizza – a new taste in an old familiar place…

When 500 Degrees (my fave burger joint for quite a while) closed,
I wondered what would replace it.

Luckily, Snap Custom Pizza took it place and I really don’t mind so much.

I could have gone with what seemed to be an infinite amount of choices, but I stuck with the classic Margherita – San Marzano tomatoes, house-made mozzarella, fresh basil, and EVOO.

My version would be… Simple. Fresh. Awesome!

The pizza was done perfectly, and all the ingredients came together to make for a delicious dinner.

As some online reviews will tell you, the place is small
(a little less seating area than 500 degrees),
but I went in on a busy Saturday night and found a place to eat (and shoot some handheld video).

But don’t take my word for it…

The Waffle Chick, Waffles & Wedges’ delicious take on the classic fried chicken and waffles, is a generous portion of breaded chicken bites (think nugget sized fried chicken, not fast food) drizzled with honey served atop a Liege waffle (crunchy outside, chewy inside).

The combination of the juicy chicken, the honey and the Liege waffle make for an awesome combination – savory, sweet, and substantive.

This place has so much variety that you could go again and again without running out of things that you swear you’ll try next time.

This week I’m at Philadelphia Mills, having a juicy Pepper Jack Steak wrap combo from Great Wraps Grill.

This place is proof positive that good cheesesteak doesn’t always need a roll.
I know that’s considered heresy in Philly (“If it’s not on an Amoroso’s or a Liscio’s roll, it’s not a Philly cheesesteak) – but this is a gently spicy take on the classic.

Great Wraps is a national chain that started making fresh wraps back in 1989.
As for their philosophy, I’ll let them do the talking:
