’The grief can damage your mental health’
The thing that compounds it when somebody takes their life, is
that it brings with it a whole different level of complexity, the emotions you feel, how they can change from day to day, hour to hour, minute to minute.”
“It’s this massive sadness that comes over you and you just can’t get out of that, and you feel like life just isn’t worth living,” she says.
Being widowed at all is highly traumatic, but for Angela Sumata, whose husband Mark
took his own life 13 years ago, her grief was almost impossible to process.
If you don’t receive the help you need to navigate through the issues, then absolutely it can lead to mental health issues.”
“We are providing a one-stop shop website to help signpost the bereaved to support,” she says.
It is especially important for people affected by suicide, says Angela, who is now a campaigner and fronted the BBC documentary Life After Suicide.
You feel these hugely strong emotions and the kids do too,” says Sarah Philips, another member of the group.
It certainly does affect your mental health overall,” he says.
Way: Widowed and Young is a peer support organisation, introducing people in similarly
tragic situations to others who can understand their complex grief.
“These days it feels like people just don’t understand what you’re going through, and society’s not geared up to help.

It measures your average blood glucose levels over the past two to three months; results of 5.7 percent to 6.4 percent, which indicate the percentage of red blood cells
that have glucose attached to them, indicate prediabetes.
Among thousands of people with prediabetes who participated in a national study called the Diabetes Prevention Program, those who received counseling about lifestyle changes, like losing a modest amount of weight, stepping up physical activity
and reducing the amount of fat and calories in their diets, were able to reduce their risk of developing diabetes by 58 percent.
While prediabetes often leads to full-fledged Type 2 diabetes, many people can hold the condition in check if they lose a relatively small amount of weight
and increase their physical activity, said Dr. Rhonda Bentley-Lewis, an assistant professor of medicine at Harvard Medical School.
One, the fasting plasma glucose test, checks blood glucose levels after an 8 to 10
hour fast; results of 100 to 125 milligrams per deciliter indicate prediabetes.
Doctors typically perform one of three blood tests to diagnose prediabetes, a condition marked by blood sugar (glucose) levels
that are higher than normal but not high enough to qualify as diabetes.
It checks blood glucose levels after fasting and then two hours after you consume
a sweetened drink; levels of 140 to 199 after the drink indicate prediabetes.

’Seattle Mama Doc’ answers your vaccine questions

at Seattle Children’s hospital and writer of the popular “Seattle Mama Doc” blog.

The Contradiction Buried in Trump’s Iran and North Korea Policies
Wendy said that If the President pulls back on the Iran deal, given Iranian compliance
If Mr. Trump makes good on his threat to pull out of the 2015 nuclear agreement with Iran, how will he then convince the North Korean leader, Kim Jong-un,
that America will honor the commitment to integrate North Korea into the world community if only it disarms — the demand Mr. Trump made from the podium of the United Nations.
20, 2017
President Trump is now fully engaged in two nuclear confrontations, one with Iran over a nuclear accord he finds an “embarrassment” and the other with North Korea
that is forcing the Pentagon to contemplate for the first time in decades what a resumption of the Korean War might look like.
If Mr. Morell is right — and no one will know until the North Korean regime collapses
and inspectors can assess the extent of its technology — Mr. Trump faces a problem far more urgent than the one that confronted President Barack Obama in Iran.
What is missing from this debate is obvious: If Mr. Tillerson extracted anything resembling the Iran agreement from North Korea,
it would mark a historic breakthrough, one any of the four previous American presidents would rightly have celebrated.
In the best case scenario, some administration officials say, the Trump administration would be lucky to win a nuclear “freeze”
that keeps North Korea from conducting more nuclear and missile tests.

Should you wipe down your gym yoga mat to avoid germs?
He says in a blog post: “Making skin contact with a dirty yoga mat covered in germs
and bacteria can lead to skin infections, acne, toenail fungus and even transfer of the herpes virus and staph and strep infections in susceptible individuals.”
Meanwhile, a study in Sexual Health, a medical journal, also found a low risk of getting human papilloma
virus (HPV), an infection which can lead to genital warts, by using unclean bike seats at the gym.
Sue Millward, Nuffield Health’s lead for infection prevention, who monitors hygiene in its 111 gyms, says staff wipe mats
and exercise equipment at the beginning and end of each day.
The best way to avoid getting ill from the gym is to accept
that you will be picking up germs during a workout – and wash your hands and kit afterwards, says hygiene expert Dr Lisa Ackerley.
Busier gyms do get cleaned more often, but Ms Millward says Nuffield also puts
up signs to encourage members to wipe down equipment once they are finished.

Any polite gym-goer will wipe down a spinning bike or weight machine after a sweaty workout
to stop the spread of germs, so should people do the same for communal yoga mats?
But GP Dr Rankin insists the risk of catching a more serious infection from a mat or seat is “vanishingly rare” and tells people not to worry.
